The Vermont Workers Center (VWC) has internship positions available for 2012.
As an intern at the VWC you will:
- Get involved in your community
- Make meaningful change for Vermont
- Learn a wide range of concrete skills
- Attend Community Organizing and Anti-racism trainings for leadership development
- Earn college credit while expanding your resume

Everyday we receive dozens of calls from Vermonters with questions about their rights at work. This internship will give you the chance to help people struggling with workplace injustices and is an excellent opportunity to learn workplace rights, and legal and organizing routes for people to take action.Media Intern and Videographer/Editor: Work with our staff and our grassroots leaders across the state to develop strategic media campaigns, coordinate video and audio projects for public access television and local radio stations across the state.

Development Intern: Are you interested in the day to day work of a development staff person? As VWC’s Development intern you’ll be asked to help with a variety of fundraising tasks--everything from behind the scenes data work, research, writing letters/phone bank scripts, to getting out and asking people/businesses to donate. You will be supported every step of the way to hone your skills and get a well-rounded experience in the field.
Grantwriting Intern: Do you love to write? Are you persuasive? Do you like to research? If so, become VWC’s Grantwriting intern. Learn the ins and outs of grantwriting--everything from researching potential funders, to writing a case statement, to writing and grant and reporting.
Electronic campaigns and Crowdfunding: The latest trend in online fundraising is e-campaigning combined with crowdfunding. Crowdfunding allows for individuals to champion a cause and raise money among their own personal networks. Help the VWC improve its e-campaigning and help build a crowdfunding program for 2012. You must be tech-savvy, well-versed in social media, and bonus points if you’re graphically inclined!
Special Events: Events are key to bringing in new supporters to the VWC while raising money at the same time. Support local leaders that are hosting house parties, benefit concerts, and other events throughout the state. You can even host an event yourself! If you love to plan parties, can work with a limited budget, and are super detail-oriented, please contact us!
