"Building a Movement for Human Rights"
Join organizers with the Vermont Workers' Center (VWC) to hear about their work building a grassroots people's movement for human rights and real democracy. The VWC on launched the Healthcare Is a Human Right Campaign in 2008 which led to Vermont becoming the first state in the country to pass universal healthcare legislation. Come learn about this effort and the road ahead to achieve universal healthcare and their new Put People First: The People's Budget Campaign. They will show clips from their new film Strength of the Storm about the struggles of mobile home park residents who organized together after Tropical Storm Irene to get the needs of their communities met.
