Dennis LaBounty came on board for the Vermont State Labor Council in December 2002.  In the past 30 years Dennis worked in various machine shops around the state including Butterfields now known as Tivioly, in Derbyline, which is machinist IAM Local 1829 for 4 years, General Electric in Burlington now General Dynamics Corporation (IUE Local 248) for over 3 years and for Vermont Tap & Die in Lyndonville now Kennametal for almost 14 years and is United Steelworkers Local 5518.

Dennis also served as staff representative for the United Steelworkers District 4 which covers the New England states as well as New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Puerto Rico from 1999-2001.  During that time he was responsible for over 30 locals, negotiating contracts, arbitration’s and also helped with organizing.
