MAY 1: Healthcare Is A Human Right March & Rally
A lot is happening in the days and weeks leading up to this, but please help us make this march and rally HUGE! Join Sen. Bernie Sanders and thousands of Vermonters all over the state as we build a movement for Vermont to be the first state to have universal healthcare.
* April 29, 2008: Vermont Workers' Center launches the Healthcare Is A Human Right Campaign changes what was "politically" impossible through grassroots organizing.
* May 1, 2009: Over 1200 Vermonters rallied at the Statehouse for the largest weekday rally in the state capitol's history.
* May 1, 2010: Again! An estimated 1500 people joined us in Montpelier, this time kicking it off with a big march through town. Less than two weeks later the Vermont Legislature passed Act 128 to develop a plan for how Vermont could treat healthcare as a public good.
* HERE AND NOW! This year we have an opportunity to win ground-breaking legislation as a roadmap to realizing this system.
