Put People First: Housing is a Human Right, A PULL*Together! Event

The People's University for Liberation & Learning invites you to a PULL*Together Thursday, April 28 from 6-8PM at Aldrich Public Library in Barre.

-Is your home safe, affordable, and a dignified place to live?
-Are you able to heat your home, pay your rent, and put food on your table?
-Are you interested in organizing for housing justice with other Barre residents?

Recent news stories have addressed housing issues in Vermont. There are two stories being told: The dominant story is that the tenants are dirty, destroy property, and don't pay rent. The other side of the story is that landlords are not maintaining their properties. Meanwhile landlords and tenants alike face unaffordable heating costs in inefficient homes built for working class people. Both stories are a question of poverty. How we can meet the needs of working class people to achieve housing justice?

Join other Barre tenants and concerned citizens for a participatory discussion and popular education event to begin the conversation about conditions in Barre and how to improve them by remembering to Put People First.
