“Strength of the Storm” tells the moving story of how a group of mobile home residents in Duxbury, Brattleboro, and Berlin came together to rebuild their lives and fight for their rights after they lost everything in Tropical Storm Irene. The film weaves together footage of the flood with interviews captured immediately after the flooding in mobile home parks across the state.

For “Strength of the Storm” star Sandy Gaffney, who lost her mobile home in Weston’s Mobile Home Park in Berlin, the film is a call to action, “after everything that happened, we realized that we have to come together to “Put People First” in Vermont--we have to organize--we can’t let our most vulnerable neighbors continue to suffer like we did after the storm.”

Like Gaffney, Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, sees the film as "an inspiring example of how people can come together in the face of tragedy to organize for real change.”
