Vermont Workers' Center Stands In Solidarity With Burlington Occupiers

BURLINGTON - The Vermont Workers’ Center publicly endorses Occupy Vermont’s new permanent encampment occupation of Burlington’s City Hall Park starting this Friday. The organization is co-ordinating teams of volunteer organizers and calling on its statewide network of supporters to participate in actions this weekend in Burlington and other parts of Vermont.

Big Victory for Mobile Home Residents for Fairness and Equality

After nearly two months of organizing, collecting petition signatures, rallying, and holding press conferences and meetings, the Mobile Home Residents for Fairness and Equality -- an organization of Vermonters who as a result of Irene are experiencing the severe crisis in affordable, safe housing, as well as challenges in removing or rebuilding -- achieved their first big victory at a Housing Forum organized by resident leaders at the Old Labor Hall in Barre on Wednesday, October 19th.

BRATTLEBORO -- Vermont activists seeking economic justice are bringing the fight from Wall Street to Main Street.

After roughly 700 protesters were arrested earlier this week in New York City during demonstrations against the excesses of Wall Street, a handful of Vermonters are stepping up actions in the Green Mountain State.
