Report from VT Early Educators United: Feb 17 Great Day for Early Education

A Great Day for Early Childhood Education

After weeks of saying they would not consider H.97/S.29, senate leaders held a hearing on the bill that will recognize early educators' right to organize and have a seat at the decision making table Friday. Cathi Ste. Marie, registered home provider from North Troy, and Sonja Raymond, center director from Stowe, testified before the Senate Economic Development and General Affairs Committee. Department of Children and Families Commissioner David Yacavone also testified in support of the bill.

Statewide Series of People's Forums a Big Success!

Rutland People's ForumWe would like to thank everyone who helped make 15 People's Forums on Healthcare, Kids, and the Economy a huge success. Over 130 candidates and about 1,000 community members from every county in the state participated in this series of forums organized by the Vermont Workers' Center, Vermont Early Educators United and Vermont Center for Independent Living.
